THE WILD WOOD EMPORIUM - Sustainable Urban Living
The Wild wood Emporium is the social enterprise off shoot of the SABPermaculture group it encompasses A number of areas The Nettleology Herbal range and other natural products, Reescyle, Blodeuwedd Floristry and gardening services including the planning, implementing and maintaining of edible/wildlife growing spaces, flow publications and the provision of workshops and talks.
WORKSHOPS AND TALKS
We can provide these for a group or as part of an event, we can also provide a venue if we have a number of people wishing to attend. We can also attend events by having a stall, costs of talks and workshops vary depending on location and your requirements, please contact us to discuss in further detail.
PROJECTS - If you would like to start a growing project we can provide the planning, materials, development and maintainace. Along side this we provide aftercare and the delivery of sessions to the users of the space, the structure of which can be tailored to meet your particular requirements. We currently work with three local schools and a number of community groups and local organisations.

Various unique items made from or inspired by the natural world, we attend various events as the permaculture group and usually bring along some WildWood Emporium produce to sell too.

The Nettleology range is a Herbal collection inspired by the Sandwell and Birmingham groups obsession with the Nettle, it is a plant that Culpeper describes as being so well known that they need no description and indeed i think we are all familiar with it - it is an abundant natural resource full of nutrients, we sell an number of products - which are subject to availability as we are a local community group and just starting out on this venture. The plants we use are all grown/foraged and dried by us in Sandwell, what we hold is also it is dependent on time of year....please contact us for further information or if you would like to make a purchase.
Disclaimer: Please note we are not qualified Herbalists, which is why we dont sell these products as Herbal medicine.We would describe ourselves as community herbalists, as such while we can pass on information about the benefits and uses of these plants but we do not give medical advice. Nutrients in Nettles (Urtica dioica) are - vitamins C, A, B1, B2, E and K. They also contain trace minerals aluminium, bromine, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, manganese, nickel, silicon and zinc. They also provide beneficial iron, calcium, magnesium and sulphur.
It also contains the constituents - Histamine, formic acid, chlorophyll and glucoquinine.
Its actions are - Astringent, diuretic, tonic.
Nettle really is a general all round beneficial plant for our health. It has a wide variety of applications and has been used by Herbalists for centuries for its healing properties, it is like a vitamin tablet in plant form! Some of the things it is used for include skin conditions, respiratory conditions, nose bleeds, haemorrhage, urinary tract problems...the list is endless!....you can find Nettle in pretty much all Herbal books stretching way back, there is a wealth of information to discover!

NETTLE SEED can be used as a salt substitute and can also be used to support and improve kidney function. The Seed contains omega 3 and 6 and they also contain essential fatty acids.
SUPERFOOD MIX you wont find an official definition for the word superfood in a dictionary. However once you wade through all the over - blown marketing ads 'superfoods' are commonly known to contain a high level of nutritional density, fewer calories, a high fibre content, omega 3 fatty acids, lots of antioxidants, plant based phytochemicals and the ability to heal or prevent disease. The plants contained in our superfood mix are the ones we can grow/forage locally that contain these properties.

We undertake all manner of floristry work including weddings and large scale events, we also provide garden design and basic garden maintenance, please contact us for a consultation and a quote.
