Nyrees and I went foraging at our market garden, and I made nettle soup and a salad using cleavers and chickweed. I decided on a change from our tried and tested Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall nettle soup recipe and used one by Lynn Tann-Watson. Lynn runs a Herbary in Leicestershire, and gives talks on herbs. She’s also written several books, from one of which I took my recipe.
I’ve also had the opportunity to test out the Elder Bark bruise salve we made in January. Just three applications produced the result below. I was very impressed, as these needle bruises usually take a full week to go down.
Finally, Nyrees and I had a stall at Greenfest at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens last week. It was a fun day. We caught up with some old friends and made some useful new contacts. This year’s Nettlefest is full steam ahead!
Till next time,
Annie
